Suitability Statements

Suitability Statements are due by 4 December 2026.

Applications and Suitability Statements are released together to the courses, so please make sure we get both of your Suitability Statements in good time.

How to contact your nominees

We contact your nominees before you submit your Application

It is your responsibility to ensure your Suitability Statements are submitted in good time.

We do not wait for you to submit your Application before contacting your nominees. This gives nominees enough time to write their Suitability Statements.

You start the process of contacting your nominees as soon as you enter their contact details in your Application, so:

  • Please check that your nominees are willing to provide a Suitability Statement before you enter their details.
  • If you are not ready for them to be contacted, do not enter their details.
  • Your nominee cannot start their Suitability Statement until you enter their details, so please don't wait too long.

Email addresses for your nominees

Please provide a workplace email address for each of your nominees as we cannot use personal email accounts (e.g. hotmail, gmail, etc) to contact them.

If you do not know your nominee's workplace email address you can indicate this in your Application. Then email us for further details.

If your nominee does not have a workplace email address at any organisation, you can give their personal email address in your Application. Then email us to explain why you have used a personal email address, and we may ask for verification.

My nominee didn't get the email

If your nominee doesn't receive an email requesting a Suitability Statement you can send it again:

  1. Login to your Application and go to the Suitability Statements screen.
  2. Check the email address you have given for your nominee.
  3. Your nominee's email software may treat our emails as junk or spam, so please ask your nominee to check their Junk/Spam folders.
  4. If the email address is correct and the nominee has checked their email folders, please click the relevant Resend button.

If your nominee still cannot find the email after you have followed these steps, please contact us giving the nominee's email address.

Using previous Suitability Statements

Submitted a Suitability Statement before?

If your nominee submitted a Suitability Statement for you before, they get a button to Copy their answers to this year.

Please give the same contact details for your nominee as last time, to match your current Application to the previous Suitability Statement.

How your nominees use our website

Suitability Statements are completed on this website. The email requesting the Suitability Statement has a link which gives your nominee access.

If your nominee is, for whatever reason, unable to use this website please ask them to contact us.

Editing the Suitability Statement

Your nominees can save their answers, then return to the Suitability Statement to edit it when convenient, just as you can save then edit sections of your Application.

Your nominees must answer all the questions in a Suitability Statement.

If any answers are missing, the nominee will be prompted to complete them when they click Submit.

Once a Suitability Statement has been submitted it cannot be edited.

Getting a fully completed Suitability Statement

It could adversely affect your Application if your nominee:

  • cannot answer several of the questions in the Suitability Statement
  • cannot comment on the areas covered by the type of Suitability Statement you are asking them to write
  • can only provide a standard reference document which does not address the questions in the Suitability Statement

If the employer of the person you intend to nominate has a policy to only provide their own standard reference, please consider nominating someone else.

If there is no-one else you can nominate, the person can email their standard reference to us. But please tell us about this in advance, and please provide contact details in your Application of the person who will actually send the standard reference.

Some courses have specific requirements for the format of Suitability Statements and who can provide them.
