Funding

NHS-funded places (Home Fee Status)

Please see the Clearing House Funding page for general information and details about Funding.

We anticipate having 28 commissioned places available.

All trainees on commissioned places are full-time employees of the NHS through the Somerset NHS Foundation Trust.

  • Current trainees are appointed on a fixed term contract for three years, at the bottom of  Band 6 of Agenda for Change pay scales and under Agenda for Change terms and conditions.
  • Currently, course fees are paid by NHS England South West.
  • Currently trainees can claim a portion of travel expenses to University and placements.  This is provided by Somerset Foundation Trust not the University.
  • Occasionally overnight accommodation for trainees on placement can be funded.
  • There is no funding to support accommodation costs to attend university.  It is expected you will live with a reasonable commuting distance of the university.

For further details of current arrangements please see the Conditions of Service

These conditions of service cover all programmes in the South-West region and some aspects are not applicable to the University of Bath programme.

Self-funded places (Overseas fees)

We are accepting applications from Overseas students for September 2026 entry. These will be self-funded places and subject to Overseas Fee Status. Please check our DClinPsy course webpage for updates about fees and the number of places available.
