This course does not accredit prior experience and learning (APEL)

Approach and theories

  • All trainees are required to demonstrate competency in cognitive behavioural therapy
  • All trainees are required to demonstrate competency in at least one of the following: Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Cognitive Analytic Therapy, Compassion Focussed Therapy, Positive Behavioural Support, Psychodynamic Therapy or Systemic therapy
  • Teaching and placement experiences are organised to facilitate the development of these competencies
  • We will be seeking BABCP accreditation for a new CBT pathway that will be available to a small number of trainees. Further information will be provided to successful applicants.

Placement locations

Most placements are located in South Yorkshire and North Derbyshire. Trainees are expected to travel within this area. Personal circumstances e.g. health conditions and carer responsibilities are taken into account as much as possible when allocating placements.
