Funding

  • Trainee posts are funded by Health Education and Improvement, Wales (HEIW), who pay the university fees as well as the trainee’s salaries.
  • There are currently fourteen training places per annum.  
  • Trainees are full-time employees of Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board and have annual leave and other benefits in line with usual NHS entitlements.
  • On entry to the programme, all trainees are paid on the first spine point of Band 6 of the Agenda for Change pay scales.
  • There is a job description and person specification for a trainee clinical psychology post at the North Wales Clinical Psychology Programme (see our website). 
  • Travel costs will be paid from a clinical base, which is agreed for the duration of the training.  
  • Payment for overnight accommodation, either during placement or academic teaching blocks, may also be available where this would be more cost-effective than daily travel. 
  • Due to funding regulations and restrictions, we cannot applications from candidates If you do not have the EU Settlement Scheme (settled and pre-settled status) or Settled/Indefinite Leave to Remain (ILR) in the UK.
  • Candidates from EU, other EEA and Swiss Nationals, will need to have been granted settled status in the UK.
